Allow successful candidate to Be an active crew member and Leader of a Watch on board a yacht up to maximum length of 80 ft / 24 m (either auxiliary powered sailing vessels or power vessels - per certificate endorsement),Worldwide In all likely conditions At any time night or day

Be a responsible flotilla Skipper on a vessel up to a maximum length of 50 ft / 15 m (either auxiliary powered sailing vessels or power vessels - per certificate endorsement) and its crew,
with a flotilla leader Within sight of land, In fair weather In Daylight hours.

Prerequisits Candidates should have completed the IYT International Crew Certificate
or Show evidence of successful completion of prior similar training courses provided by an accepted and accredited body.

Competency requirments The candidate must be able:
To demonstrate a basic and outline knowledge of the Theory component and to demonstrate the ability to perform the required practical skills safely and correctly whilst in command of vessel and crew in light to moderate winds and sea conditions during daylight hours.

Theory and practical components This may take the form of both written and oral assessments.The candidate is required to demonstrate a basic outline knowledge and understanding of the following:
Housekeeping
Responsibilities of watchkeeper
Pilotage and passage planning
Navigation and chartwork
Tides and currents
Electronic navigation aids
Meteorology and weather
Seamanship and nautical knowledge
Collision regulations
Anchors and anchoring
Safety and survival at sea

The candidate is required to demonstrate successfully
the skills, detailed working knowledge and understanding of the following:
Command, crew functions and crew briefing
Check lists and preparation for sea
Navigation and pilotage
Weather and tide information
Anchors and anchoring
Collision regulations
Distress and emergency
Vessel handling
