Modules No. 2-6 : These modules, both theory and practical, give a basic understanding of the knowledge that is required to be an active crew member on board a yacht either power or sail.
Candidates seeking a career in Yachting, such as those who wish to hold the Proffesional International Crew Certificate, Yachtmaster Coastal, Offshore or Ocean Certificates, are rquired to complete STCW 95 Basic safety training courses at a recognized national training facility. These courses are recognized internationaly by the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
Allow successful candidate to be an active Crew member on board a vessel up to 50ft/15 m
(either auxiliary powered sailing vessels or power vessels - per certificate endorsement).
with a competent captain in Light to moderate winds and sea conditions during daylight hours and To be able to responsibly skipper a small vessel in familiar enclosed or safe waters, with shore based supervision, in light winds and sea conditions during daylight hours.

To demonstrate a basic and outline knowledge of the theory component and to demonstrate the ability to perform the required practical skills safely and correctly whilst a member of a crew in light to moderate winds and sea conditions during daylight hours.
